AT&T to Bluestream Transition Information HP II, III & IV

What to do as your phase moves from AT&T to Bluestream

In the Fall of 2022, Phases 2, 3 and 4 will be moving our bulk telecommunications services from AT&T to Bluestream Fiber.  AT&T now provides TV service billed to the Phase and paid through our quarterly maintenance fees.  The new Bluestream contract will add internet service to the bulk services.  As with AT&T, land-line phone will be available as an individually paid option, at a discounted price.
Before Bluestream installations start in the Fall, much more information will be coming your way.  The focus of this article is to guide residents in the cancellation of AT&T services.
Cancel your account.  Every apartment and villa now have a separate account with AT&T, even if you have only TV service and do not pay them any monthly fee.  All AT&T accounts must be canceled by calling them at 866-299-6824.  Each account holder (owner or renter) must cancel their own account.  HP or Campbell cannot do it for you.  The AT&T representative can provide more detailed instructions if you need.  When you call, be sure to note the name of the rep and the date & time you call in case there’s any confusion in the future.
Return the equipment.  AT&T equipment needs to be returned within 21 days of the cancellation date or you may be subject to an unreturned equipment charge.  It’s important to remember that the 21-day window starts on the date you call.  If you can’t return by the deadline, the AT&T rep may be able to give you more time.

AT&T equipment is the gateway (tower), set-top TV boxes and remote controls, and a Wireless Access Point (WAP) (not all residents have a WAP). Equipment is returned by dropping off at any UPS Store. No packaging is needed; they just scan the barcode on each piece and give you a receipt. Be sure to keep the receipt in case there is any confusion in the future.

What you need to do, and in what sequence, depends on your situation.
One of the following sections should guide you to the best process.  If your situation isn’t covered, or you still have questions, contact the HP office at 561-496-3801.

I will be at HP in the Fall
If you are a full-time resident at HP or are a snowbird/snowflake and expect to be here in October/November, simply look for more information as the switchover date nears.  You do not need to do anything now.  Do not return equipment and do not cancel service.

I will NOT be at HP by early December
I do NOT have a land-line phone or internet connected devices…

  • Cancel your AT&T service by calling them when you leave for the last time before December since you will not be using their services anymore.
  • Disconnect and return AT&T equipment within 21 days of canceling.
  • Your account is now closed.

…But I have already left for the season

  • On or about December 1, call AT&T to cancel service.  If your house sitter or key holder cannot return your equipment for you within 21 days, ask the AT&T rep for other options.  They may be able to extend the return deadline.

I DO have an AT&T land-line phone at HP and want to keep the phone number…

  • If you put services on seasonal hold, or have calls forwarded, enable the features.

** Seasonal hold or call forwarding must be done before disconnecting the modem. **

  • Before leaving for the season, disconnect and return all AT&T equipment, but do not call to cancel your service.
  • BE SURE TO KEEP THE RECEIPT FROM UPS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE
  • The account will remain active.
  • When instructed by Bluestream that they are ready to “port” your phone service, contact them at the phone number or email that will be provided to you.
  • There will be a charge of $6.00 per month to keep your phone number available, but inactive.
  • Porting phone service to Bluestream will automatically cancel AT&T telephone service
  • After porting is complete, call AT&T to cancel all other services.

…But I have already left HP for the season

  • Do not contact AT&T to cancel any services at this time.
  • Your account will remain active, and billing will continue as normal.  If you put services on seasonal hold or if you have calls forwarded, enable the features.
  • When instructed by Bluestream that they are ready to “port” your phone service, contact them at the phone number or email that will be provided to you.
  • Bluestream will charge $6.00 per month to keep your phone number available, but inactive.
  • Porting to Bluestream will automatically cancel AT&T telephone service.
  • On or about December 1, call AT&T to cancel your other service. If your house sitter or key holder cannot return your equipment for you within 21 days, ask the AT&T rep for other options.  They may be able to extend the return deadline.

I have internet connected services that need to remain active
If you have a RING doorbell or internet-based controls that must remain active while you are not at HP, your internet service must remain active until Bluestream installs and activates your new service.

  • Do not contact AT&T to cancel any services at this time.
  • Leave equipment in place when departing for the season.  The account will remain active, and billing will continue as normal.
  • Do not put your internet on seasonal hold as this will disable your internet service.
  • If you have an AT&T landline phone, port it as in the instructions above.
  • On or about December 1, call AT&T to cancel all services except internet.
  • If your house sitter or key holder cannot return your TV boxes, WAP and remote controls for you within 21 days, ask the AT&T rep for other options.  They may be able to extend the return deadline.
  • Once Bluestream has installed your new service, call AT&T to cancel their internet, then return the AT&T internet modem within 21 days.
